Put Some labor back in your Labor Day Weekend!

2009 Dakota Five-0  brought a lot of new faces to the hills, as we had 398 riders participate in our race/ride/tour of  50 miles, through the Northern Black Hills. We look forward to seeing many of the previous riders returning, as well as many new riders, for the 10th Annual Dakota Five-O to be held on Sept. 5th 2010.  Sorry, no more course records to be broken…but a new course record to be set, as our course will be slightly different for this year’s event.  We’ve taken out our notorious, citadel slide, as well as the grueling ascent beforehand, and have replaced it with some epic, hand built, Ridge Rider Singletrack. This new section of trail may add a few extra minutes to your time, but the views will be well worth the extra push.  We have been working on the trail for over a year now and have some work to complete it, so if you’re in the area and want to help out, stay tuned to our blog or local bike shops for trail work days.

The competition has been getting fierce, so we’ve decided to throw down a little more cash for the fastest overall man and woman and are bumping up the “bonus” from $150 to $250! Quarq technologies will also be giving away a Garmin Edge 705 to the top male and female riders.  We will continue to go deep with cash in all classes for top finishers, and our prize table and raffle have always been worth sticking around for!...as well as the post ride dinner provided by Bayleaf Café and the Spearfish Chophouse

We are capping this year’s event at 500 riders and there will be no race day registration, so make sure you register early to guarantee your spot at the race. The last day to register will be at the packet pickup on Saturday, Sept. 4th at Common Grounds from 3-7pm. We hope to make the 10th annual race the best event yet, and we look forward to seeing you on the line for the Smokey Bear start at 7:20 September 5th, 2010.
